Facebook is a worldwide known social network. At home or at work, Facebook is common issue. Creating an account and a profile page for your real estate is no longer enough. Being on Facebook means interaction, sharing, building and strengthening relationships. Everybody knows that people can post properties on Facebook, but doing it in an organized way, by using, for example, tabs to organize the information that they wish to advertise is a different thing.

When so many real estate agencies use social media to advertise their properties, having an exclusive application for their customers, which increases the visibility of the real estate, of the brand, of the properties and that enhances the business, is the icing on the cake.

So we developed the “Property Search on Facebook”. This application is a property search engine inside de agent’s Facebook page. This way, visitors can search all properties available on the agent’s webpage and still be directed to the property details page.

4 rules to manage your Facebook page

1. Advertise your Facebook fan page on your website

  • If your Facebook page includes a link to your site the reverse should also happen. Place a Facebook icon on your real estate website and a ‘Like’ button in the detail page of each property.

2. Don’t use the Timeline to send messages to your fans

  • Your Timeline should just show the latest posts you made and the ones which were commented by your fans. Therefore, it isn’t the best place to convince new fans to click on “Like” and become your fans.

3. Change the name of your Facebook fan page

  • Did you know that when you reach a certain number of fans, Facebook allows you to rename your page? Just go to facebook.com/username and replace the ugly algorithm code with your company name (www.facebook.com/your company).

4. Think globally, act locally

  • When it comes to the real estate market, knowing the local situation is very important. Instead of having 30 000 “zombie” fans, it’s better to have only 500 within your business area. These are going to be useful because they will allow you to promote your company and, at the same time, allow you to reach your target audience.
