Leaving work on time can actually help improve your efficiency as a real estate manager!

Who’s responsible for running a company knows how difficult it is to leave on time.

It doesn’t matter if you´re a manager, coordinator or CEO, many believe that a company’s success depends on working until you drop. But sometimes this is not the right attitude; first of all it has a technical name: ‘WORKAHOLIC’, this literally names a person who is obsessively addicted to work. Although it might seem to be the right way, this kind of attitude is not beneficial, especially for one’s personal health and not even for the company´s health.

It’s difficult to let a business opportunity slip away especially now when we are slowly coming out of a crisis that affected the real estate sector as much as it did! Having an excellent CRM system (specialized for real estate) will help you manage the company and sales force more efficiently, helping you be more competitive in the real estate industry.

It seems that the path to success has always been related with the idea of working long hours. However this behaviour might trigger the opposite effect.

If your company is not in fact struggling with huge financial difficulties, you need to think about other strategies such as time management (as mentioned before)

Here are 4 good time management tips!

1- Not having a schedule can ruin your productivity

Sometimes we have the impression that we can leave tasks to do later on; giving us the illusion that we have more time that we actually do! We deceive ourselves with this (wrong) idea and we tend to release some pressure (important and necessary) that a deadline would impose on us. This behavior leads to procrastination!

This doesn’t mean that the second the clock ticks over the 5pm line we drop everything and continue the next day! That’s not the intention. However having a daily schedule will oblige us to complete our tasks, forcing us to prioritize these tasks.

2- A daily routine with help develop self-discipline:

Leaving on time and managing the most important tasks in an organized manner will force us to be more disciplined.

This discipline will have an important role in terms of results as well as in requiring this discipline from others. Being disciplined will achieve better time management, helping you to focus on the work that is really important, and will give you a sense of accomplishment. Not to mention the time you effectively gain for you and your family.

3- Manage your work, manage your life:

Spending quality time with family and friends or just doing what pleases you will have positive results in your performance. Several studies show that exercise is not only good for your health but also for your mind! It’s important to turn off our engines from the chaotic rush of everyday life! For some the key is an hour in the gym, for others it can be spending quality time with the children, a dance class or just sitting around watching a movie.

The goal is to eliminate stress related to the professional activity in order to improve yourself when you’re needed and at the end of the day you’ll know that you dedicated yourself 110%.

4- Last but not least, having a Schedule will make you a better manager, better coordinator, team leader and a better person!

If you’re working all the time, people around you will feel pressured to adopt the same behavior! And no, no one expects that. What is expected is people that organize their tasks effectively, and not people that work just because (often not producing even 5% of what is expected)

As we explained before, leaving work on time demands organization.

You can’t demand from your employees that they have their tasks done on time, if you, as the manager, don’t show discipline and the capacity to execute the important tasks that influence other people’s work.

Leave work on time, but remember to do so you need be disciplined, organized and learn to define what is more important for your day/week.
