SEO

In this blog we talked about the main rules of SEO and its importance in communication with search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.). But what we present today in this article is the concept of location related to SEO techniques and how they can help achieve results more quickly.

SEO- Are techniques applied OnSite and OffSite to add credibility to the site in search engines. Thus depending on the indexing of the web by the search engines, the results usually appear in the medium / long term.

So how can we have faster results with SEO?

The answer is very simple – apply to SEO knowledge already acquired, the factor of location.

Example:

The real estate XYZ sells and leases properties in Cascais and Oeiras.

Homepage has the following tags:

. Title Tag

Houses and apartments for sale and to rent | Real Estate XYZ

. Description Tag

Find here the house or apartment you are looking for. In Real Estate XYZ we have a wide variety of real estate with just one click. Visit us!

What is wrong in the example above?

Nothing, if we are to compete with the big portals of real estate and all other real estate in the country.

The truth is that real estate typically operate in specific regions, such as the aforementioned case, so we must use these locations in order to get more specific results. If you enter in the ‘Tags’ shown above the locations where it operates, will reduce (much) the number of competitors on the web.

As so, the “Tags” coul be the following:

. Title Tag

Houses and apartments for sell and rent in Cascais and Oeiras

. Description Tag

Find here your house or apartment your looking for. In Real Estate XYZ we have a wide variety of properties in Cascais and Oeiras. Visit us now!

In addition to Meta Tags you need to act concerning the location. So you need to add location:

- In file names (ex: living-room- apartment- 3 bedroom- cascais.jpg)

- In the titles of the images (ex: Living Room – 3 bedroom apartment in Cascais);

- In the titles of the property page (ex: 3 bedroom apartment in Cascais);

- At the property Description (ex: Apartment t3 in Cascais. Overlooking the stunning Cascais marina, it provides relaxing evenings with a spectacular sea view worthy of representation in most valuable Renaissance paintings…)

SEO is very important to get traffic to the site, however should be designed to achieve goals, which in the case of real estate, are sales or real estate leases.

Everything goes through a proper study of the main keywords (search terms). Although there are fewer searches with the keyword ‘homes for sale in ‘Cascais’ than ‘homes for sale’, the likelihood of conversion is much higher for those looking for the first term, than who enters your site looking for the second term. The same is true in search results of search engines.
So when thinking of a SEO strategy for your site, do not think about the amount of traffic, but in quality traffic.

Tips to optimize your Facebook Page

Facebook is a very important social network to share content. However during 2014 Mark Zuckerberg’s social network has adopted some policies to limit the reach of posts, in particular the so-called fan pages.

Facebook is a company, and according to this premise the ultimate goal is to make money! Limit the reach of posts is a way to ‘force‘ the pages to do sponsored posts where, upon payment, it is guaranteed a range of ‘X’ users. This measure is not new on the internet, where the guaranteed range is becoming increasingly paid.

However here are some tips to maximize your Facebook business page.

- Schedule your posts: Only posting from time to time has two negative aspects. On one hand if your page has few fans, it is unlikely to increase this number in an organic form (non-paid posts), and on the other hand if your page already has a considerable number of fans, this will make them gradually lose interest (because they are not seeing new content). It is also important to refer that by not adding content, your page will tend to ‘disappear‘ from your followers wall, even if they remain connected to your page.

Facebook itself no longer shows your content

Tip: Do not let too much time pass without sharing content, create a sharing plan for example: 2 shares a day, 5 shares a week, choose the combination of posts that best suits your schedule.

Be relevant to your followers

-Diversify your content: Although you’re a real estate company, people who follow your page will want to see more than properties. It is important to diversify content in order to cause a constant interaction of fans on your page. Each company will manage their content on social networks the way they feel is right, however remember the following: A fan will share a property, only if they are looking for one, or know someone who is looking for a property! If your properties do not reach fans, do something that makes fans reach your properties.

Tip 1: Share more generic content. Sharing “good day” or “good week” images are excellent for creating shares by your fans. Remember: Share what your fans want to share, by doing so your page will reach other people including your fans contacts, increasing the visibility of your page.

Tip 2 – Seasonal Images: Easter, Christmas, Carnival, Father´s day, Mother’s day, or Children’s day are great to share more diversified content. Combine them with real estate publicity. For example, if you are in the holiday rental market, suggest an attractive property to spend a weekend or a holiday!

A ‘Happy Monday’ image can be an excellent post for a Monday morning, and it will probably be shared.

Tip: Share news related to real estate, relevant news to your customers. For example: reduced spread, real estate lines of credit, etc. Use the news section of real estate portals as a source.

Wishing you great week and many sales!

Cookies, what are they?

In many websites the main settings, such as the display mode or language, are stored by your browser (even if you do not use it for a while) so that your navigation is optimized. This is because browsers use small files called cookies, which have the task of storing user preferences for a particular website.

Each cookie stores data to a specific address on your computer, meaning that you can have as many cookies as the websites you visit.

So, what are cookies?

We can define cookies as usually small text files, given ID tags that are stored on each computer by using an internet browser:

- Internet Explorer
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox

These small tags (only) store information related to your browsing preferences.

In most cases, cookies, keep simple information such as IP addresses, or language preference.

Some websites can store names and email passwords. These are the type of cookies used by most websites that require authentication, widely used by webmail services such as Gmail, Hotmail, Sapo Email etc.

How does a cookie work?

Whenever we revisit a particular website, our computer sends the corresponding cookie to that website, so that it recognizes and identifies our browsing habits.

Although cookies are not considered harmful, you must watch out, especially regarding the computers you use to access the Internet.

For example it is not advisable to access your bank account from a computer shared by different people (unless it’s at home), as these can be accessed by third parties.

You may have noticed that now when navigating a new website, something like this appears:

These warnings are due to website requirements, which keep cookies to inform their users that when navigating on the same website, some of their data will be stored. It is also normal that this data does not appear on all websites, those you regularly visit will probably have your cookies already stored.

eGO Real Estate websites meet the European standards that define which users must be informed about the use of cookies on each website.

Can cookies be harmful to my computer, or my web browsing?

The answer is no! Cookies, as mentioned earlier, only store information regarding search habits and preferences, or in some cases user names and passwords. This should be the target of some care in the browsing itself! You should not visit websites that are “not trusted”, avoid using computers shared by many unknown people,  must have an updated antivirus system, minimizing the risks. Regarding cookies no need for concern.

But if you want to eliminate these small files from your computer it is also possible.

Cookies are not harmful to your computer, but it is up to each user to make a responsible use of the internet.

What can I do not to have cookies on my computer?
